Artur Eresko

Artur Eresko (born in Kharkov, Ukraine, February 24, 1964) is an entrepreneur in Russia, Ukraine and Latvia, banker, owner and president of an international finance-insurance company.
== Biography ==
A graduate of the 60th Secondary School in Riga, Latvia. From 1981 to 1986, he studied at the State University of Latvia’s Faculty of Law. After graduating from university, he served in the Armed Forces in the army’s Southern Group. After serving out his time in the army, from 1990 to 1995 Eresko studied at the University of Latvia’s Faculty of Economics and subsequently completed his Master’s studies in economics and law. Accordingly, he holds Master’s degrees in both subjects.
In 2004, he defended his thesis at the Russian State University for the Humanities and obtained an economic sciences candidate’s degree. Author of many publications on the development of international finance-insurance holding companies, as well as commercial activity.
From the moment commercial activity was allowed in the 1990-s, he began to actively engage in the renewal of trading and economic links between the regions of the former Soviet Union. He was the first to establish a new type of business structure – a Latvian Trading House, bringing Latvia’s biggest companies together with the aim of creating an export system under conditions of the formation of new economic relations and developing the principles and foundations for the Latvian State’s subsequent. In order to resolve these tasks, entrepreneur Artur Eresko established the Baltic Product- Raw Material Exchange, whose operations were geared towards a broad range of businesses. Its work ensured and guaranteed the civilized exchange of raw materials and goods such as metals, fuels and FMCG products.
Eresko established a structure which was one of the first in the group of former socialist states to implement important import-export activities.
Since the end of the 1990-s, A. Eresko has also been involved in matters related to insurance and banking.
Since 1996, Eeresko’s name has been a permanent feature of the biographical encyclopedia “Who is Who in Latvia” and prestigious celebrity rankings.
